Gift Matjokotja was the big winner after scooping three awards – players’ player of the season, most disciplined player and top goal scorer.

Lucas Matjokotja, Gift’s father, who is also known as Pro because of his playing days, gave a speech on behalf of the parents and urged the players to continue working hard.

“As parents, we need to support our children so that they can be the best that they want to be. It pains me when I hear that some parents do not support their children in their respective sports choices. Yes, they [children] must go to school but parents also need to support them in sports as well,” he said.

Sipho Gwaqubana scooped two awards, player of the season and players’ player of the season.

Midfielder of the season was awarded to Glen Malesa while Shanen Booysens got the nod for the forward of the season.
