As a local event planner, Eclectic Events believes that everyone should have a chance to earn an income – hence, they have given the Midrand community the opportunity to do business at the Nizamiye Complex.
The Nizamiye monthly market or monthly bazaar was initiated by Tasneem Rehman, Huriye Coban, and Zakiyya Manjoo of Eclectic Events, in collaboration with the Nizamiye Complex, after hosting many markets since 2018.
At the markets, they had over 150 stalls in 2018 and 2019 and when lockdown hit in 2020, everything came to a standstill.
Eclectic Events started hosting the markets again in September 2020, adhering to all Covid protocols. These were to assist both the Nizamiye Primary and High School, Midrand community, and the Nizamiye Mosque with great success.
The organisers are especially grateful to the Nizamiye Complex to allow these events to be hosted on such a large scale.
On June 26, they held their first monthly bazaar at the complex, and they will host them every month.
“Our first monthly bazaar was a huge success. We had a total of 42 stalls that sold a lovely variety of items, from clothing to perfumes, toys, and not forgetting food,” said Rehman.
“There was an excellent response from the public with many visitors who came out to support the stalls, which we highly appreciate.”
The new monthly market gives all home businesses a chance to succeed in these trying times – a general stall costs R250 and a food stall costs R350.
Eclectic Events would like to welcome all vendors and people of the public to the monthly market as there is something for everyone and the next market will be on July 30
