Residents are encouraged to remain vigilant and to continue to keep the area safe.

The recent Operation Fiela (sweep) held in Midrand Sector 3 saw several notices being issued by law enforcement officers.

The Midrand Sector 3 Crime Forum conducted a joint operation with Midrand police, Metro police, the City of Joburg By-Law Enforcement Management Unit (BMU), and the Building Control Unit on July 8.

“It was conducted between 09:00 and 13:00 within the sector and fines issued included five notices from the BMU, four notices for environmental health, and two prohibition orders,” said Marvin Maphiri, chairperson of Midrand Sector 3.

Moreover, three notices were issued by the Building Control Unit, two illegal businesses were closed, and 12 people were issued notices after a stop-and-search.

Maphiri thanked all the stakeholders involved in the fight against crime and encouraged residents to remain vigilant and continue to keep the area safe.
