Midrand Sector 3 neigbourhood watch leads to three arrests

Sector 3 patrol commander has applauded the community patrollers for their commitment to the fight against crime.

Several arrests were made by Midrand Sector 3 Crime Forum patrollers on May 27.
According to Sector 3 CPF patrol commander Otto Ramokoka, at about 10:00, two illegal immigrants were apprehended for attempted cable theft in Bluehills Ext 15/32.

He said it was during load shedding that patrollers came across the suspects who had apparently been digging up cables.

A chase occurred on foot and the patrollers apprehended the suspects. Midrand police responded quickly and the suspects were detained at the station.

“Another suspect selling dagga mix for R500 was arrested in Country View,” Ramokoka said. It was further discovered that the suspect was growing dagga at his house.

“Our appreciation to all community patrollers for their commitment to the fight against crime.”

The spokesperson for the Mirand police, Constable Eliot Mabulane, confirmed the arrest and urged the community to continue to report crimes as soon as they occur.
