Connect to Feed ask for food donations ahead of Tembisa visit

Connect To Feed founder Upama Srivastava said their aim as a team is to make sure they stick to their objective of always giving a helping handy to needy and distribute non-perishable food items.

Connect To Feed founder Upama Srivastava pleads with people to donate food parcels that will be given to destitute people of Ivory Park in Tembisa on May 8.

Srivastava said the Midrand-based NGO was also looking for eight volunteers to help with the distribution.

She added they were going to use April to raise funds for the food drive in partnership with Food For Life Midrand.

“Food For Life Midrand runs a very big drive every first Sunday of the month in Ivory Park, Tembisa. We [Connect To Feed] provide food for more than 1 200 people in Ivory Park. So, the Connect To Feed team decided to be a part of this great initiative and join them [Food For Life] in spreading some happiness on May 8 by looking out for the needy,” said Srivastava.

According to her, Food For Life provided about 15 000 plates of food per day nationally in a bid to eradicate hunger and malnutrition.

“Our target is to support 1 200 people as much we can with the following items: bread, canned food, soup mix, Maize meal, juice fruits, cabbage, sugar beans, cooking oil and salt.”
