Midrand Cricket Club invites teams to participate in its Super Sixes tournament

MIDRAND — The club wants to make sure the tournament goes bigger and better this year by encouraging teams to register and spread the word far and wide.

Midrand Cricket Club will on May 7 and 8 host its traditional Super Sixes tournament which they hold every year at their home ground in Olifantsfontein.

The club wants to make sure the tournament is bigger and better this year by encouraging teams to register and spread the word far and wide.

A committee member at the club Siphiwe Mgandela said the two-day tournament would feature a lot of cricket and was geared towards family enjoyment including a jumping castle so children could enjoy themselves.

“We are looking for members who can provide any of the services that we normally procure over the two days, whether it be a jumping castle, food stalls, team shirts and more, to please reach out to us so that we can incentivise services internally before exploring options externally,” Mgandela said.

To book their team space in the tournament, teams are encouraged to pay an affiliation fee. Prize money for the tournament will be
R6 000 for the winners and R1 500 for the runners-up.

Moreover, the club is seeking sponsorship for the prizes and anything else that can contribute to making the tournament a success. “If there are any sponsorship leads or opportunities that members of the community believe the club could benefit from, please let us know.”

Detail: Teams that wish to be part of the tournament or sponsorships can contact 072 908 8701 or 074 303 2314.
