Local families ask for sponsors to get their children overseas

MIDRAND — The children are in need of sponsors and funding to partake at the Project AIM convention which takes place on one of the MSC cruise liners between March 21 to 25 in Mozambique.

Last year, siblings from Midrand under the Figures Model Finesse International modelling agency won the 2021 Figures national model of the year accolades which granted them opportunities to travel overseas and compete at the Project Aspiring International Models (AIM).

Israel (10), Aaliyah (12), and Nia Kolisa (8) who are aspiring models at the Figures Model are very passionate about careers in modelling and not just modelling but acting, singing, and dancing as well.

According to their parents Nceba and Mathuso Kolisa, the children are in need of sponsors and funding to partake at the Project AIM convention which takes place in one of the MSC cruise liners between March 21 to 25 in Mozambique.

“They performed extremely well at last year’s Figures National Student Model of The Year as they won opportunities to compete overseas,” said Nceba.

“It qualified them to go to an international event that will be held on the Portuguese Islands in Mozambique where international modelling scouters will be looking for potential models.”

At this platform, these young South Africans will get an opportunity to be scouted by international modelling and talents agents.

All aspiring models, actors, singers, and dancers will compete on runways and stages in live and recorded competitions, interviewed by both talent agents and model managers who are interested in them for representation in their various countries.

They will also get an opportunity to attend workshops and seminars offered by these international industry experts. All the South African youths participating at the Project AIM convention showcases their skills and capabilities in front of these international agents who are especially invited as judges at the AIM convention.

According to the Kolisa siblings, if they perform well at the convention they will stand an opportunity to receive international modelling contracts from any of the international agents to work anywhere in the world.

If they do get sponsors, they will be cruising through on a MSC cruise ship from Durban to Mozambique and participate in seven different competitions on the cruise.

“As a family we do not have funds, hence, we are requesting financial assistance,” Nceba said.
“There is quite a number of things that they need to get for the competition like outfits, transportation, and financial assistance for an adult to accompany them since they are all minors.”
