School outreach Valentine’s Day drive

NOORDWYK — All proceeds from the day will be donated to the Childhood Cancer Foundation of South Africa.

Christ Church Preparatory School and College was a cascade of colours – pink, red, white and black – on February 14 as learners dressed up in their best civvies to celebrate Valentine’s Day.

A donation of R5 or more from learners was requested for them to wear civvies and all proceeds from the day would be donated to the Childhood Cancer Foundation of South Africa (CHOC).

CHOC is a non-profit organisation that supports young children and teenagers, and their families, who have been diagnosed with cancer and other life-threatening diseases.

Outreach team members of the school worked hard during the various breaks, selling many goodies. These included lapel ribbons, roses, chocolates, mugs, and balloons. Additionally, a photography booth was available.

The school marketing manager Dawn Schmitz said CHOC did an excellent job of helping families both emotionally and physically.

“It is for this reason that the school decided to show our appreciation for all that they do for others,” Schmitz said

“Well done to our outreach team on a successful day, you show true Christ-likeness.”
