Strip of untarred road to be filled in

RANDJIESPARK – Resident, Asesha Sanasy said that the road was left cut since last year November, claiming that it affected her car's tyres.

A local resident claimed that Johannesburg Roads Agency had dug up a strip of tar on Superior Road in Randjiespark which had not been filled in since November last year.

Asesha Sanasy said motorists had to drive extremely slow over the untarred section as it could damage their tyres.

“As my tyres go into the [untarred section], once they are in it is difficult to get out of it, and with the rains, the [untarred section] is growing deeper,” she added.

Sanasy said she notified the roads agency on January 17 after noticing that the depth of the untarred section had increased.

The Midrand Reporter contacted the agency’s media officer Kelebogile Mafa who said the reason why the strip of road was dug up was for City Power cables to be repaired.

“The cable repairs have been completed. Our team is scheduled to reinstate the road on January 27 this year,” Mafa concluded.
