Reddam House Waterfall’s Class of 2021 achieves a 100% pass rate

WATERFALL – Top learner at Reddam House Waterfall, Junhe Chen said he would use the 9 months before going to school for his self improvement.


Reddam House Waterfall’s matric Class of 2021 achieved a remarkable 100% pass rate.

“The learners had an exceptional set of results. Our Dux Scholar [Junhe Chen] from last year is on the IEB [Independent Examination Board] outstanding achievement list, which means he is in the top 5% of the country’s or students in six subjects and above,” said Bosch.

Bosch added that Shalin Pather made the IEB’s commendable achievement list, securing himself a spot in the top 5% of learners in five subjects and more.

“We are extremely proud of them. We did not doubt that they would rise to the occasion.”

Junhe achieved seven distinctions, all above 85%, and said he did not think he would make it this far.

“There were many periods of self-doubt and insecurities but I think getting the results back was the biggest relief. My plan going forward is mainly self-improvement and going to university.

“I am thinking of a university in Hong Kong or the United Kingdom, but I think since school in both countries starts in September. I will use these nine months to learn some life skills, improve myself, and mentally prepare myself for the adult world,” said Junhe.

Shalin attained seven distinctions in eight subjects and said he felt proud because he put in a lot of hard work and had to miss out on so much in life.

“It paid off in the end and will pay off in the long term. My chosen university is the University of Pretoria. I got conditionally accepted to study computer engineering because ever since I was a baby, computers have been my life and love,” he concluded.
