WATCH: Supta drops the music video to his song Amajuba, featuring Aymos

WATERFALL – After having waited a whole year to get into the studio with Aymos, Siyabulela Sithole said that everything fell right into place, Aymos's lyrics gelled well with his beat.

Midrand’s very own Siyabulela Sithole, who many know as Supta, recently released the music video to his latest afrohouse track, Amajuba, featuring singer Aymos and producer Peekay Mzee.

Explaining the message behind the song, Sithole said it was all in the lyrics. The song was about having to break up with your lover and enduring the pain of them not being there while you reminisce about the good times you had with them.

Sithole said the song came about after he approached Aymos on one of the social media platforms after hearing an amapiano song he was featured on.

“I think amapiano has revealed a lot of artists, so I normally reach out and see if they are willing to do anything outside the genre. Fortunately, with Aymos he was really interested to jump on my song.

“But it took us a while to eventually get into the studio and record, like a year or so. Once we got into the studio we did the hot song, Amajuba,” he added.

Impressed by Aymos’s work ethic, Sithole said the connection between him and Aymos was easily developed. “Aymos is a storyteller, more than anything, I just threw a beat at him, he listened to it a couple of times and then started writing to it.

“When I heard the song, Amajuba, after we finished recording, it all made sense that we can all relate in one or another way with the message on the song. And so I think it was just him, sharing one of his experiences and it connected really well with the beat.”

Sithole said more of his music would be coming soon as he was working on a body of work. He concluded that so far he had worked on singles with Aymos, Nkosazana Daughter, and Nomfundo Mo.
