Summerhill has a lot to celebrate for this year

MIDRAND — To mark the occasion, the Nursery, Prep and college will be embarking on celebratory events to mark these fabulous milestones over the course of the year.

This year is one of particular excitement at Summerhill Nursery and Preparatory School as 2022 marks both the school’s 30th-year celebration and the 80th birthday of the founder and owner, Sonja Morshead.

To mark the occasion, the Nursery, Prep and college will be embarking on celebratory events to mark these fabulous milestones over the course of the year.

To begin the celebration, on January 11 the school staff enjoyed a fabulous drumming, team-building exercise and on the 12th the school’s Grade 2 to7 learners experienced the same in the ‘first-day back’ incursion.

“[They did this] through drumming, additional instruments, song, and dance – our staff and students alike. They work together to create unified rhythms and songs.
“Valuable life lessons were learned along the way, including learning to laugh at ourselves, look to each other for support, complement each other, to remain focused on a common goal, and to remember and value the individual gifts that each person brings to the table.”
