Pascoe says there is still much to do next year

WATERFALL – The Reddam Houe Waterfall's preparatory school head encouraged everyone to take the festive season as an opportunity to reset.

With Christmas around corner, Quinton Pascoe, the preparatory headmaster at Reddam House Waterfall reflected on the school year.

Pascoe said it was important to acknowledge all the feelings that came with such a transition from physical learning to digital learning.

He added those feelings provided natural opportunities to pause, allowing them to acknowledge and celebrate the successes.

“It is important to pause so that we can refocus and regain balance,” he added.

“Taking the time to pause creates an opportunity to hit the reset button in our minds, to be more present, to more fully acknowledge the moments, thoughts, and emotions that are an important part of the end of the school year.

“We need to take the time to reflect and celebrate our partnership with parents and the successes this has brought our preparation. Reflection will be fleeting and soon the focus will be on the future.”

Pascoe said many people often did not want change and wanted to remain the same.

“2021 has proved to be another year with nasty, disturbing things and we had to change. The change strengthened us, brought us together and I truly believe as a collective we triumphed in the face of adversity.

“Yet when the call of adventure sings in our ear, we feel a stirring in our souls to follow. At this point, our friends and family may be equally hesitant for us to change, because they know we will not be the same.”

He concluded that the road goes ever on and on and we must continue to walk the road, leaving old mistakes and success behind, for there was still much to do.
