Swimming gala returns

WATERFALL – Quinton Pascoe, head of school at Reddam House Waterfall, said learners are excited about the swimming gala at school.

Reddam House Waterfall held their first swimming gala since the Covid-19 lockdown was implemented last year.

Zoe Tate and Bontle Modiba can’t wait for their turn to get in the water and swim after a harsh year and a few months of lockdown.

According to the head of school, Quinton Pascoe, children were excited to be part of the event on October 9.

Pascoe said the day was glorious after two days of isolated thundershowers. He added that the event was, however, a perfect backdrop for an outdoor event.

“Eager swimmers took their marks amid a buzz of competitive energy. Although the children were divided into their respective houses, their shouts for encouragement were for each swimmer, not just those on their own teams.

“The thrill of competing in a sporting event once more was tangible and the spirit of the gala was visible on the children’s faces and in their cheers for the swimmers.”
