Two suspects are detained

MIDRAND – Midrand Police Station's acting station commander, Colonel Hosea Mantji said it was a pity that youth keep on abusing drugs even when substances are known to destroy people's health.

Midrand police arrested two suspects for possession of drugs and dagga on October 6 in Blue Hills, Midrand.

Constable Eliot Mabulane said the suspects were arrested at about 15:00, one in Blue Hills and the other on Market Street.

He added that the suspects were arrested during a stop-and-search. “Police kindly introduced themselves to the suspects and explained to them why they wanted to search them,” he said.

“The suspects are detained and will appear at the Midrand Magistrates’ Court soon.”

The Acting Station Commander Colonel Hosea Mantji added that these arrests would serve as a deterrence to others who were still dealing in drugs, transporting drugs, and using them.

He concluded that it was a pity that youths kept on abusing drugs even when the substances were known to destroy people’s health, and also made people take irrational decisions that often landed them in prison.
