Sector 3 crime-fighting volunteers recognised

MIDRAND – Sector Crime Forum 3 chairperson Marvin Maphiri highlighted the importance of recognising the local heroes, adding that they were playing an important role to protect and defend the community.

The Midrand Sector Crime Forum 3 honoured their heroes on August 29 at the Protea Hotel in Midrand, for their contribution in helping fight crime.

Guests included Colonel Tholinhlanhla Sibisi from the Midrand Police Station, Gauteng Provincial Community Policing Board chairperson, Thokozani Masilela and Ward 112 councillor Lerato Mphefo.

They all agreed on one important principle, that crime-fighting was a joint effort between the South African Police Service, Johannesburg Metro Police Department, security companies and the Community Policing Forums.
