Youth Alive Sports Project in Diepsloot receives donations from generous public servants
DIEPSLOOT– Hlaka thanked sports and recreation staff members in the City of Johannesburg in Region A for what she described as an act of kindness.
The founder of Youth Alive Sports Project non-profit organisation, Precious Hlaka has thanked sports and recreation department staff members in Region A for their act of kindness.
This after staff members of the department donated sanitary towels to the organisation which is based in Diepsloot.
The organisation works to develop and offer the youth a platform to display their talents in various sporting codes within the community and beyond.
Hlaka said, “On behalf the Youth Alive Sports Project team we would like to extend our greatest gratitude to staff members of sports and recreation in Region A for recognising and driving by to support our initiative project by dropping off sanitary towels. This will go a long way and help dozens of girls in need in this community.”
Hlaka continued, “Our goal as an organisation is to develop young local talent and unite communities to promote social cohesion while keeping youngsters away from the streets.”
Regional manager in the department, Enock Mosiea said the donated sanitary towels were made possible by loving and caring staff members in his office.
“We donated 200 packs of sanitary towels to Youth Alive Sports as part of Mandela Day. This is not a once-off thing we do just because it’s Mandela Day.”
Mosiea concluded, “We do this very often. We support community organisations and initiatives aimed at helping young people in different communities.”
