Know where to cast your vote in the upcoming local government elections

JOBURG – Members of the community may only register and vote in the voting district in which they live.

Do you know where you will be casting your vote for the local upcoming elections?
Knowing which voting station and voting district you belong to is an important step in your journey to the ballot box.

According to the Electoral Commission of South Africa (IEC), a voting district is a geographical area that is serviced by only one voting station. Members of the community may only register and vote in the voting district in which they live.

Once you have registered, your name will appear only on the voters’ roll for the voting district at which you registered. This helps minimise the possibility of someone voting more than once in an election.

It is important to note that voting districts may change due to various geographical, population and political changes that take place between elections.
Visit www.elections.org.za to find your voter registration status and see if your voting district has changed.
