O Kae Molao operation sees seven arrested

DOUGLASDALE – Led by the Johannesburg District Commissioner, the O Kae Molao operation saw a number of suspects arrested for various crimes.


Police arrested seven suspects during an O Kae Molao operation held on July 1 in the Douglasdale policing district.

Johannesburg District Commissioner Major General Max Masha led the operation which involved Douglasdale, Honeydew, Randburg, Diepsloot, Linden, Roodepoort, Florida, Bramley, Alexandra, Midrand, Sandringham and Sandton police stations. Metro police, the West Rand K9 unit and Gauteng Traffic also joined the effort.

Captain Mpho Tshetlhane, spokesperson for Douglasdale police said, “The suspects were arrested for different crimes ranging from common robbery, dealing in dagga, contravention of second-hand goods act and illegal immigrants.

“About 960 safety tips pamphlets were also distributed to raise awareness on trio crimes, i.e. business robberies, hijackings and house robberies including gender-based violence.”

The community was also reminded to keep on complying with Covid-19 regulations.

“The police will continue with these operations to make sure that our communities are and feel safe.”
