Midrand police appeal for informers to help combat crime

MIDRAND – Constable Tshwarelo Eliot Mabulane confirmed that there is money to be paid out to individuals who share valuable information with police which could lead to the arrest and conviction of suspects.


Midrand police called on community members to become informers to combat crime.

Station Commander Brigadier Molefi David Tsotsotso and spokesperson Constable Tshwarelo Eliot Mabulane said there was money to be paid out to individuals who shared valuable information with police which could lead to the arrest and conviction of suspects.

“We request the community to assist as informers in identifying those who are committing business robberies, hijackings, house robberies and other serious and violent crimes,” said Mabulane.

Tsotsotso said the identity of informers would be protected by police.

Mabulane added that informers have been paid up to R50 000 for providing information that led to convictions.
