Victim receives justice

HALFWAY HOUSE – The offender, Maseka Michael, was found guilty on charges of common robbery on 26 April this year.


A person has recently been sentenced to 12 years’ direct imprisonment after robbing a victim of her cell phone and running over her in Halfway House on 24 March last year.

Spokesperson for the Midrand Police Station Constable Tshwarelo Eliot Mabulane said the offender, Maseka Michael was found guilty on charges of common robbery on 26 April this year.

Mabulane said the victim was run over by the accused at the scene and sustained injuries. Police were able to call an ambulance so that the victim could receive the necessary medical attention.

Acting station commander Colonel David Mahloromela applauded the work of Sergeant Benjamin Nkatingi who swiftly responded in arresting the offender.

He also commended Warrant Officer Sello Lebea for responding urgently to the complainant by opening a case docket and assisting the complainant to receive the necessary medical attention.

“Through the hard work of the members together with investigating officer Sergeant Edward Dikgale, the success was made in order to bring about justice for the victim,” Mabulane concluded.
