Matrics welcomed back at Christ Church

NOORDWYK – Christ Church Preparatory School and College welcome their new matrics.

Christ Church Preparatory School and College welcomed their new matric class on 1 February.

Spokesperson for the school Dawn Schmitz said, “Entering matric is one of the most exciting, terrifying, rewarding, daunting and exhilarating periods in every pupil’s life. It marks the final year of many years of hard work and dedication.

“Becoming a matric pupil at Christ Church Preparatory School and College not only comes with the responsibility of guiding and being role models to our younger pupils, but our matric pupils are also honoured with a number of privileges within the school.”

Schmitz said while having a designated matric break area was one of the privileges they have, they also received their own ties and scarves. On their first physical day back, the principal of the school David Bell went around to the classes to hand out their special ties for the boys and scarves for the girls to welcome them to their final year of school.

Each matric learner also received their own jacket to wear throughout the year.

Schmitz concluded, “There was great excitement as these ties and scarves were handed out to our Class of 2021 on their return to school for contact teaching… We would like to take this opportunity to wish our matric class the best for their final year at school.”
