Midrand community celebrate Valentine’s Day at Lory Park Zoo

PRESIDENT PARK – The Lory Park Zoo and Animal Sanctuary hosted a special Valentines Day event.

The Lory Park Zoo and Animal Sanctuary invited the local community to meet their animals for Valentine’s Day (14 February).

Event organiser Robynn Ingle-Moller said that the day was a delight. “The experiences brought love and laughter to countless guests, and the animals also got loads of attention too.”

The locals had the opportunity to socialise with the animals at the zoo including Phillip the flamingo, who was rescued from Kamfer Dam in 2019 and Lory Park Zoo was happy to share his story with the community.

Ingle-Moller said, “The day was filled with hearts and flowers from young love and families all visiting and enjoying an outing to Lory Park Zoo on Sunday. The day was made even more special with pancakes and wonderful animal experiences.

“Our beautiful cockatoos, Burmese pythons, rock monitors and even flamingoes all graced the photo booth where visitors could get a close-up and personal encounter with loved ones.”
