MIDRAND – Rabie Ridge police arrested a man in Kanana Ext 4 on 11 January for the alleged murder of his wife.

According to Sergeant Jacob Nhlongo, spokesperson for the Rabie Ridge Police Station, police received a complaint about a domestic violence incident in Kanana Extension 4 on 9 January at about 11.25pm.

“The crime report alleged that a husband and his wife were fighting at the scene. Upon arrival, we found an adult female inside a shack lying in a pool of blood facing upwards,” Nhlongo explained.

He added, “The deceased’s daughter, who is 19 years old, alleged that her parents had an argument and her father used a hammer to hit her mother on the head until she died.”

He added that the husband, aged 43, was arrested in the early hours of the morning on 11 January and would soon appear in the Tembisa Magistrates’ Court to face the charges laid against him.
