Residents association is happy to have been able to help the community

RABIE RIDGE – Rabie Ridge Residents Association wishes to help the community through the social and recreational projects, next year.

Chairman for the Rabie Ridge Resident Association, Charles Jones shared some of the association’s moments, both good and bad from the last year, before highlighting some of their wishes for this year.

Jones explained that some of the association’s highs last year were achieving the temporary residential units. “We are glad, these houses can cater for our youths in overcrowded homes, child-headed families, disabled and underprivileged families.

“Supporting the elders through social development with food parcels and vegetables is also something positive and memorable, we also got the chance to give them hairdos and pamper them.”

He added that some of the association’s lows last year had been not achieving their main goal – to change the Golden Oldies structure. “It really is dysfunctional and no positive and uplifting results are being yielded. Covid-19 really kept us behind because we wanted to achieve more socially and recreationally, for our youths through the social development department.”

Jones said they hope that this year they can achieve all their missions and targets, especially those they could not achieve last year. They also hope to achieve better community building through all government departments and ward councilors included.

He added that on behalf of the residents association, he would like to wish all their community structures, stakeholders, churches and member a prosperous and joyous new year.

“Do not drink and drive, we would also like to thank our community business partners especially Teddy Greaver and James O’Shea for their stunning and phenomenal community support especially towards the elderly. Well done leaders.”
