Man arrested for wife’s alleged murder in Rabie Ridge

KANANA – Man to soon appear in Tembisa Magistrates' Court after the alleged murder of his wife using a hammer.

Rabie Ridge police arrested a man in Kanana Extension 4 on 11 January for the alleged murder of his wife.

According to Sergeant Jacob Nhlongo, spokesperson for the Rabie Ridge Police Station, police received a complaint about a domestic violence incident in Kanana Extension 4 on 9 January at about 11.25pm.

“The crime report alleged that a husband and his wife were fighting at the scene. Upon arrival, we found an adult female inside a shack lying in a pool of blood facing upwards.

“The deceased’s daughter, who is 19-years-old, alleged that her parents had an argument and her father used a hammer to hit her mother on the head until she died.”

Nhlongo further added that the husband, aged 43, was arrested in the early hours of the morning on 11 January and would soon appear in the Tembisa Magistrates’ Court to face the charges laid against him.
