Councilor warns resident to celebrate the festive season safely

IVORY PARK – Ward 77 Councilor Yoliswa Twala urges people to celebrate the festive season safely.

Ivory Park Ward 77 councillor Yoliswa Twala wishes residents a memorable festive season.

The councillor said while there were many challenges in the ward, she was proud of residents for complying with the Covid-19 regulations.

She added, “On the down side, the unemployment rate and the crime rate is very high, housebreaking and gender-based violence are issues that are supposed to be dealt with.

“On the bright side, Level 1 lockdown has put us in a position to work more hard to improve the state of service delivery.”

Twala said residents who would be travelling out of the province should make sure that they were leaving their houses in a safe state or should alternatively get someone to look after their houses. “Travel safely and do not drink and drive. May all of you have a Merry Christmas and a great New Year ahead.

“All those that are not going on holiday, stay safe and take care of yourselves and families.”
