Tshuma Stingers reminisce about a tough year

MIDRAND – The Midrand Giants coach Barry would like to see his team go back to the field next year.

The Tshuma Stingers reminisced on some of the years’ positives and negatives and highlighted some of their hopes for the coming new year.

Head coach Vusi Barry said that one of their highlights was the positive start they had when they played their first game, which they won. “What is most memorable about the game was that we won and we were playing with a team above our league.

“The lows would be Covid-19 obviously, now we are forced to start from the bottom, back in the beginning of the year we had gained momentum and then stopped. Therefore next year we are going to be starting from zero again.

“We would like to make our way back to the field, back to our old lives and work because in sport, we have been affected a lot as coaches. We primarily work as sports administrators and coaches, and with this pandemic taking over, it has taken a knock on our pockets and our personal lives.

“For our festive season message, I would like to say thank you to our sponsor Fury Ford right here in Midrand, and the Midrand High School for always being there for us and providing us with a venue that is closer to the community and to the community for giving us an opportunity to work with their children and lead their children who also teach us humility as coaches and as a club. We would also like to thank Caxton for always being there for us and telling our story.

“Happy Christmas to everybody in South Africa, as a nation we have seen the worst, and we are going to be building again in the new year as a nation. Happy New Year.
