Ikamva Youth School gets a makeover

IVORY PARK – Ikamva Youth School has been part of the Saints community for years, the Boys' Preparatory organising community engagements and regular donations.

The Ikamva Youth School received a much-needed makeover thanks to members of St Stithians Boys’ College Interact Club.

On 10 October, 25 boys volunteered their time to scrape and repair walls, tear down and rebuild a wooden staircase and hand out food parcels at the school in Ivory Park.

Ikamva Youth School has been part of the Saints community for years with the Boys’ Preparatory organising community engagements and regular donations.

The school initially reached out to the boys’ college for assistance with plumbing work, repairing walls and building a new staircase. St Stithians College communications manager Annie Fyfe-Hitchings explained, “It was a strenuous day out in the sun but all the boys enjoyed giving back to the community and getting really dirty in the process.

Fyfe-Hitchings added, ” A big thank you goes out to everyone who took the time to come out.”

The school would like to extend a special thank you to Wrench Plumbing who volunteered with the plumbing and Kreesan Moodley with the rebuilding of the staircase.
