Midrand SPCA receives a generous donation

GLEN AUSTIN – Ford Fury Midrand donated dog food worth R5000 to the Midrand SPCA.

The Midrand SPCA received a kind donation of R5 000 worth of dog food from Ford Fury Midrand.

Dealer principal of Ford Fury Midrand Bernerd Blom said, “Our chairman Ken Cosgrove is passionate about the SPCA and the work it does. Every time he is in SA, every two months or so, he donates food to the various SPCAs. He called us a few weeks back and said that he had been informed that the SPCA was in need of food for the animals. We bought R10 000 worth of food which we divided 50/50 between the Midrand and Sandton SPCA.”

Ford Fury Midrand has been deeply involved with the Midrand SPCA including the raising of R386 000 in 2018 and R420 000 in 2019, to instal a new water purification system on their premises, as well as donating towards security fencing around the organisation’s premises.

General manager Pam Pretorius said, “The donation received from Ford Fury Midrand is greatly appreciated especially at this time when we are experiencing a shortage of food being donated. The Fury Group has been longstanding supporters of our SPCA and without their assistance so many of our projects would not have come to fruition.”

She added, “Every bit of help that we receive from the public and corporate entities such as these, assist us in being able to fulfil our mandate in the prevention of cruelty to animals.”
