Robber is handed a 15-year prison sentence

SANDTON – Bongani Khoza (31) was armed when he forced his way into the house through the back door.

The Alexandra Magistrate’s Court sentenced a man to fifteen years’ imprisonment on 15 September for a house robbery committed in Sandown last year.

Bongani Khoza (31) was armed when he forced his way into the house through the back door before threatening the family and demanding money. According to Bramley Police Station spokesperson Captain Molefe Mogodi, Khoza was overpowered and apprehended by the victims in the house and was handed over to the police.

Mogodi explained, “After thorough investigation, the suspect was finally brought to court to stand trial. It was through the hard work of the investigation officer that the man was convicted and sentenced after a lengthy trial where several witnesses have been called to testify.”

Mogodi added that the station welcomes the conviction and hopes that it will restore the community’s faith in the justice system.
