Expanded Nova Pioneer Midrand campus takes shape

NOORDWYK – Covid-19 and lockdown has delayed development, however, the senior primary will move to the new campus in 2021.

The expanded Nova Pioneer Midrand campus in 3rd Road is taking shape, providing space for new grades to be introduced at the school next year.

Head of school Jeanine Kerr said, “Due to the reality of Covid-19, and weeks of lockdown, development has been delayed. “However, we are happy to announce that the senior primary grades will now move to the new campus in January 2021. “We will also be growing into a secondary school, which we are extremely excited about.”

The new campus will include a full-size sports field, a pool and a hard court to extend the school’s sports offering to all learners including the lower grades, who will remain on the Matuka campus. The Matuka campus will become specialised for younger grades. A science lab, amphitheatre, studio space, break-away classrooms, counselling room and specialised playground equipment are some of the additional offerings to look forward to.

The new site, which is currently under construction in 3rd Road, is less than 250 metres from the current school campus. “The phase two building of our secondary school, which will be built shortly after phase one completion, will give our students the opportunity to complete their school careers using the Cambridge curriculum.

“We look forward to having our students complete their entire career of school (Grade 000 to Grade 13) with us.” Nova Pioneer Midrand plans to include Grade 7 in 2021 and launch their inaugural Grade 8 class in 2022.
