Two security guards from a Midrand church arrested for murder

BLUE HILLS – Two friends were allegedly attacked by four security guards who accused them of stealing from Pastor Bushiri’s church in Midrand.

Two security guards were arrested for murder and attempted murder at 10am in Midrand on 25 May.

According to Gauteng police spokesperson Captain Kay Makhubele, police were alerted about the incident after a man walked into the Midrand Police Station after surviving an attack on the R55 by security guards.

Makhubele said, “The man led the police to the scene of the crime where the body of his friend was recovered.”

He said that it is alleged that the two friends were attacked by four security guards who accused them of stealing from a church in Midrand.

Two other security guards from the church are now on the run.

“Police are appealing to any member of the public who might have witnessed the incident or with information that can help in the arrest of the other two security guards to call the nearest police station or call crime stop on 086 001 0111.”

Makhubele said the arrested suspects will be charged with murder and appear in the Midrand Magistrate’s Court soon.
