Ria Sebetsa and community members feed locals in need

HALFWAY GARDENS – The security company appeals to community members who know of families in need to contact them.

Ria Sebetsa Security Services, with support from members of the Midrand community, donated food to feed more than 13 families this past week.

CEO of Ria Sebetsa Security Danny Maduray said, “It pains us to see families who can’t provide for their children or themselves at this time. We believe that charity begins at home and we need to be committed to feeding those in our community.”

Maduray said that whenever Ria Sebetsa hears of community members in need, they reach out. “We assisted during the Knysna fires and we continue to support people in need during lockdown.”

On 6 May, the security company donated food to 13 families in need, identified in the communities of Noordwyk and Country View.

“We rely on the community to come forward and refer family or friends who they know are going without food,” said Maduray, appealing to community members to continue to refer people they know who are in need.

Some donations were collected by community members, while others were purchased by Ria Sebetsa.

Maduray is appealing for donations of non-perishable food items, baby food, toiletries and canned foods so that they can continue to assist those in need during lockdown.

Ria Sebetsa also donated enough items to feed 10 more families connected to God’s Prophetic Ministries International on 6 May, to the delight of senior pastor prophet Jonathan Palany.

“We are very blessed to receive this donation. Ria Sebetsa is always contributing to the Midrand community, for which we are so grateful,” said Palany. He explained that the church identified 10 families in need to receive the donations.

Donations can be dropped off at 266 Van Heerden Road, Halfway Gardens between 8am and 5pm daily.
