Emergency water shutdown for Greater Midrand

GLEN AUSTIN – The shutdown will affect over 40 000 houses in areas including Ivory Park (including extensions), Kaalfontein, Ebony Park, President Park, Glen Austin and Austin View.

Johannesburg Water has announced that residents of Greater Midrand will have an emergency water shutdown from 10pm on 5 May to 7pm on 6 May.

Johannesburg Water said in a statement, “This is a necessary repair that needs to be finalised in order to continue to provide a sustainable water service to all.”

Johannesburg Water said that teams will be repairing a leak on Republic Road.

The shutdown will affect over 40 000 houses in areas including Ivory Park (including extensions), Kaalfontein, Ebony Park, President Park, Glen Austin and Austin View.

“Residents are encouraged to save water for the duration of the outage, continue to wash hands and minimise the spread of the coronavirus.

“We appeal to all to use water sparingly and there will be 14 roaming trucks to assist during the outage and we appeal for patience and cooperation.”
