Mphefo shares her views on Ward 112 compliance during lockdown

MIDRAND – Ward 112 councillor Lerato Mphefo shares her message to residents during the coronavirus lockdown.

Ward 112 councillor Lerato Mphefo gives an update on resident compliance during the coronavirus lockdown.

Councillor Mphefo said, “Our ward is full of active people and the lockdown is not easy for everyone especially those who are self-employed and not categorised under essential services as they’ve also now lost some part of or all their income.

“But I must say I’m really proud to represent people of this ward, who have mostly been adhering to the rules of lockdown with only a very few whom we had to call police on right an the beginning of lockdown.”

During the lockdown, City of Johannesburg employees are still working and Mphefo will assist with queries. “A lot of City employees are on lockdown, with some of the employees working from home. Water, electricity, sewer and Pikitup are listed as essential services with a few residents reconnected by City Power and Johannesburg Water even when their accounts are not paid to date.”

She concluded that Joburg City Parks and Zoo also has a team on stand-by for services like fallen trees mainly due to weather conditions and happen to block the roads.
