Tree Tops Montessori equips youngsters with activity packs for lockdown

MIDRAND – The Tree Tops Montessori Pre-school prepared activity packs for their kids ahead of the 21-day coronavirus lockdown.

The Tree Tops Montessori Pre-School has compiled activity packs for learners to enjoy during the 21-day coronavirus lockdown.

Principal of the school Jenny de Kock said, “When the president announced that all schools had to close for a couple of weeks, the teachers at Tree Tops immediately sprang into action to compile activity packs.”

She said that the school pre-empted for the lockdown and discussed the development of activity packs for the children during the lockdown period. The school received a special donation of R6 000 from the Flint Group, which assisted in purchasing various items including Lego, chalk, bubbles and colouring books among others to facilitate Montessori learning at home.

The parents and teachers have been in consistent communication with the teachers sending through ideas daily on how the children can learn with these packs from home.

De Kock added, “Staff spent three days making activities and packing the items and we managed to get them distributed before the lockdown with the help of a representative of the Flint Group.”

She said that the school will institute e-learning lessons if the lockdown is extended.

She concluded, “Huge thank you to the Flint Group for investing in our children and proving that you stand behind your logo ‘You can rely on us’. You really have helped to colour our world.”
