Botshabelo launches a Covid-19 relief fund

BLUE HILLS – Botshabelo has launched a Coronavirus Relief Fund to assist families struggling during the 21-day lockdown.

Blue Hills-based organisation Botshabelo has launched the Coronavirus Relief Fund.

Fundraising manager at the organisation Maja Muench said, “As the coronavirus pandemic has us all living in strange and trying times, Botshabelo, chose to act, and not to panic.”

The Coronavirus Relief Fund is an initiative the organisation launched to help families in need through the development of food parcels and hygiene packs during the 21-day coronavirus lockdown. Muench said that through its three main programmes, the babies’ home, UpliftED teacher training and Urban Kids Preschool, they are connected to a number of underprivileged families.

Managing director of Botshabelo Michelle Hinrichsen said, “We want to be able to respond with food parcels, hygiene packs and other assistance as each family needs. We know that we won’t be able to help everyone, but we want to do what we can, where we can.”

The organisation is calling on the community to assist in this difficult time. They are calling on the community to buy and donate items to develop the relief fund packs. Interested community members can visit admin@botshabelo.co.za or donate items via the ‘shop and send’ function at their favourite online store.
