Covid–19: Public transport stops: “Let’s respect the shutdown and stay home”
JOBURG – Public transport will come to a halt during the lockdown.
As the country nears to a nationwide lockdown at 1 minute to midnight on Thursday, 26 March many people have been wondering what are the limits and rules during the next 21 days.
Confirmed Covid-19 cases have increased to 709 in South Africa, with 64 more cases in Gauteng.
The Security Cluster press briefing expected to be held today (25 March) is expected to give a guideline of what lockdown will look like. The main message is to still, stay at home. Essential services such as supermarkets, petrol stations, banks, and pharmacies will be operating as usual.
According to Health Minister, Dr. Zweli Mkhize it is okay to take a walk by yourself or between two people but still social distancing. The government lockdown is to avoid congregating in large numbers.
