Man found dead behind supermarket in Rabie Ridge

RABIE RIDGE – Rabie Ridge Police called on by community members after discovering a dead body.


Rabie Ridge Police Station have urged the community to continue reporting incidents to the police.

According to the station spokesperson Constable Jacob Nhlongo, on 2 March they received a complaint about a dead person seen in an open space behind a supermarket.

“Upon arrival we found a male lying dead on the ground. The man is known and his family was traced and brought to the scene of the crime.

“We do not know what happened to him, but the deceased had visible injuries on his head. As the Rabie Ridge police, firstly, we want to give thanks to our community for reporting such a gruesome incident after seeing it.”

Nhlongo added that since they do not have any facts on what could have happened to the deceased, they are urging the community or anyone who could have seen or heard anything to come forward with the information so the perpetrator(s) can be arrested. “It is very important for us that people report such things to the police.

“One can do so by calling 10111 or the local police station on 011 310 0410/20; use MYSAPS app and to also utilise the SMS line 32211.”
