Ivory Park detectives finally nab a murder suspect

IVORY PARK – Ivory Park Police Station detectives finally catched a man suspected of killing another man.

Ivory Park police detectives have located and arrested a 23-year-old man who has been wanted for the fatal stabbing of another man.

Ivory Park Police Station spokesperson, Captain Bernard Matimulane said the suspect was arrested in the Exubeni section of Tembisa early on 22 January at a place that he was renting.

He added, “The suspect is alleged to have stabbed a 30-year-old man from Kaalfontein in June last year during a drunken argument which took place at a tavern.

“It is not yet clear what the source of the argument was about. The deceased was stabbed once in the neck and was declared dead at the scene.”

Matimulane said the suspect fled the scene immediately after the murder and later changed his residential address.

“Unbeknownst to him was that the team of detectives assigned with tracing him were working around the clock and were not prepared to rest until he was brought to book to answer to the allegations levelled against him.”
