CROWTHORNE – The Midrand Police arrested three suspects after their attempted robbery victim fought back.

Midrand police officers have arrested three suspects following an attempted robbery in Crowthorne.

The incident occurred on 29 December when the complainant was walking along Mercury Road in Crowthorne towards Arthur Avenue. The complainant was approached by a white Toyota Condor with five occupants who offered the complainant a lift which was declined.

Spokesperson for the Midrand Police Station Sergeant Matome Tlamela said that the complainant pretended to open a nearby gate before the Toyota drove off. At approximately 1.10pm the same day, the complainant was approached again by the same vehicle. The vehicle blocked the complainant’s movement on the sidewalk and two suspects jumped out and approached the complainant with one suspect, still in the car, pointing a firearm.
