Ward 110 councillor Lesibana Lamola shares his wishes for the festive season:

Let me take this opportunity to greet everybody in the ward, 2019 has been a hectic year in as far as service delivery is concerned.

We have experienced continuous power failures in our area. With winter coming next year we need to be ready so that we do not experience what we have experienced this year. Overloading and illegal connections have been one of the contributing factors towards this regular tripping which makes our lives difficult.

We need to continue to work together so that this problem can be defeated. There is litter everywhere which is also not good for our lives. We have to make sure that our bins are taken out on the day of collection.

Now that we are in the festive season, we need to be very careful. Our houses must be locked at all times and your children must always be next to you at all times because criminals are taking advantage of the situation.

Let me also take this opportunity and comment about the Ivory Park Taxi Association which is doing good work in our community of greater Ivory Park. Their contribution can never be left unnoticed. Some students are at university because of them. It is clear that they are building the community. During the time of difficulty faced by local families, they provide transport for them.

To community members, please let’s work together with this industry.

In conclusion, please let us spend carefully because January is just around the corner and schools will be reopening, money must be spent on things for the children for school.
