Christ Church Preparatory School and College hosted a special graduation ceremony for their Grade R learners on 23 November.
Spokesperson for the school Zeenath Sathiah said, “They will be going to the preparatory school where they will be introduced to more formal methods of teaching. Grade R teacher, Carol Jordaan, who has seen some of her pupils start at Christ Church Preschool at Grade 000
when they were just three years old expressed her sadness to see them leave the preschool but excitement to see them flourish in this next phase of their schooling career.”
Jordaan said, “We’ve grown with them, played with them and spent a lot of time with them and, as a result, we have been privileged to be a part of their journey.”
Christ Church Preparatory School and College principal David Bell said, “Our Grade R graduation is always a highlight in the school calendar as we celebrate our Grade Rs and their progress to ‘big school’ next year. A lot of hard work and preparation goes into the event, but it is very worthwhile in the long run.”
Sathiah added, “There was great excitement amongst parents and all our preschool pupils. It is a definite privilege for us as a school to be able to sow into the lives of these children and to see them grow from preschool to preparatory school to college.”
