Pikitup experiences backlogs in parts of Joburg
JOBURG – Pikitup says they have experienced backlogs due to a waterlogged landfill site.
Pikitup has informed residents that they have been experiencing backlogs in parts of Johannesburg North throughout the week which they say will lead into the weekend.
Pikitup posted on their Twitter account on 6 December that the landfill site is waterlogged, the reason for the disruptions.
Areas that have experienced the delays:
- Ivory Park
- Vorna Valley
- Bridle Park
- Jukskei View.
Pikitup also had problems in the Randburg area as waste collection was also delayed in:
- Ferndale
- Bordeaux
- Northriding
- Bordeaux
- Kensington B
- Randpark Ridge
- Boskruin
- Sundowner.
The waste collection services said the Randburg depot will be prioritised and waste will be collected by the end of Friday (6 December), including areas around Midrand.
Areas in Sandton and surrounding areas were also be affected:
The Malboro Depot will render waste collection services on Sunday Sunday in Parkmore, Modderfontein, Hyde Park
