Shooting in Centurion leaves multiple people injured
OLIEVENHOUTBOSCH – The patients were all assessed and found to have sustained moderate to serious injuries, according to Netcare 911 communication officer, Shawn Herbst.
Netcare 911 responded to reports of a shooting on the R55 Main Road in Olievenhoutbosch at 6.28pm Monday evening (2 December).
According to Shawn Herbst from the communication’s office of Netcare 911, reports from the scene indicate that a gunfight had broken out where multiple people sustained gunshot wounds.
Herbst said the patients were all assessed and found to have sustained moderate to serious injuries. “An adult male patient who was treated on scene by advanced life support paramedics from Netcare 911 and Emer-G-Med. Once stabilised, he was flown by ambulance helicopter in a critical condition to the hospital.”
Herbst said that circumstances leading up to the shooting are unknown and will for the subject of a police investigation.
