The annual SPAR Carols by Candlelight is ready to kick-off

BRYANSTON – The SPAR Carols by Candlelight event is for a great cause and toys will be collected for little ones in need as well as raising funds for Jacaranda FM's Good Morning Angels.

Welcome the holiday season with the annual SPAR Carols by Candlelight with Jacaranda FM.

The highly anticipated event is a must for everyone wanting to share in the festive cheer. So, get your picnic gear ready as the event will be kicking off on 7 December at St Stithians College and heading to Loftus Versfeld on 10 December.

Last year’s event drew a massive crowd of families from all over Gauteng and neighbouring provinces. More than 200 boxes of toys were collected and R55 000 was collected for charity during the 2018 event in Pretoria.

This year’s event promises to be legendary with a star-studded line-up. Tarryn Lamb, Roan Ash, Swing City and the Soweto Gospel Choir will be performing at both events, with Matthew Mole, Lira, Rubber Duc and Paxton completing the line-up in Joburg and Jo Black, Riana Nel, Joshua na die Reën and Early B spreading the festive cheer in Pretoria.

Fans can also look forward to meeting their favourite Jacaranda FM presenters. Martin Bester, Liesl Laurie, Elma Smit, Elana Afrika-Bredenkamp, Rozanne McKenzie, Alex Jay and Rian van Heerden will also be celebrating in full festive force, with the station broadcasting live from both events.

Besides being a headline sponsor, for more than 15 years, SPAR is proud to also be sponsoring the kiddies’ entertainment area that includes jumping castles, face-painters, games, crafts, buskers, movies and more!

Remember that the event is for a great cause. Toys will be collected for little ones in need as well as raising funds for Jacaranda FM’s Good Morning Angels.

Entry is free, but in spreading the love to where it is needed most, attendees are encouraged to bring a toy which will be delivered to selected charity organisations.

Kathleen Bailie, SPAR inland advertising manager encourages everyone to join the joyous occasion. “This Christmas give the gifts of time and love to others.

The SPAR Carols by Candlelight is a very special event that brings families and loved ones together.”

Candles will also be on sale at R30, songbooks at R10 and a songbook and candle bundle package at R35. All proceeds will go to Jacaranda FM’s Good Morning Angels.

Gates at both events will open at 4pm and the programme will officially kick off at 7pm to 9pm.
