Two suspects arrested following a hijacking

MIDRAND – While the Midrand sector vehicle was patrolling the hijacking hotspots noticed a Quantum skipping stop signs and immediately gave chase.


Two hijacking suspects were arrested on 7 November at Belvedere Street, Glen Austin.

The spokesperson for Midrand Police Station, Sergeant Matome Tlamela, said that while the driver was at a stop sign near Teazers on the corner of Olifantsfontein Road and Old Pretoria Road, a hotspot, he was approached by three suspects who jumped in and pushed him to the back.

“The Midrand sector vehicle, while patrolling the hijacking hotspots, noticed a Quantum jumping stop signs and gave chase. After stopping the vehicle, the suspect driver said he was lost but the complainant who was at the back informed them he was hijacked.

Two suspects were arrested and one ran away. “Linkages via modus operandi on the way,” added Sergeant Matome Tlamela
