New service centre for Region A

WATERFALL – The City of Johannesburg will formalize the temporary region A customer service centre in Waterfall.

The City of Johannesburg is in the process of finalising its second Region A customer service centre to widen their reach in the area.

Ward 132 councillor Annette Deppe said that during the revamp of the current centre in 16th Avenue, Midrand, the employees were moved to a temporary space located at Waterfall Wilds. The Midrand Reporter previously wrote about the service centre in the article Service with a smile [Week ending 20 September].

The centre assists residents with their billing and rates and taxes queries.

Deppe said, “During the revamp, we were offered the building by Waterfall Management Company for three months with the agreement that we will pay rent after three months… Now that the office is finished, some of the staff have to go back. So half the staff will be moved back while the rest stay in this space.”

She added that the City of Johannesburg was currently in the process of formalising the Waterfall office and getting a lease signed.

Deppe said, “To expand the reach is extremely important. It’s convenient, safe, quick and reliable with its own back office. It’s very much a one-stop-shop for residents relating to their billing.”
