MIDRAND – The awards ceremony recognised individuals who went beyond the call of duty to make a difference in the prevention of crime.

The awards took place in conjunction with the Security Association of South Africa, South African National Security Employers’ Association, the Association of Private Security Owners of South Africa (TAPSOSA) and supported by Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSIRA). According to a statement by Mohamed Ameen Dabhelia from the communications office of private security company, Vision Tactical, the awards ceremony recognised those individuals who went beyond the call of duty to make a difference in the prevention of crime.

“In attendance were key industry organisations, private security companies and various dignitaries from the government including the Ministry of Police, PSIRA and SAPS. Three Vision Tactical officers namely; Boloka Rudolf Diale, Razine Dayne Naidoo and Salmaan Moosa Seedat, received the prestigious Private Security Industry Bravery Awards in the category Going Above and Beyond the Call of Duty,” said  Dabhelia.

The keynote address was delivered by Deputy Minister of Police Honourable Cassel Mathale.

Mathale said that the role private security plays in keeping communities safe cannot be undermined, “We are here tonight to express our appreciation for the work that each and every security officer is doing.”

Director of Vision Tactical Yaseen Theba said that the award is a testament to the tremendous efforts and sacrifices made by the officers in the line of duty. “We would like to commend each and every officer in the team for continually going above and beyond the call of duty to keep our communities safe, receiving these prestigious awards proves that what we are doing does not go unnoticed,” said Theba.

Private Security Industry Authority council member Mathews Oliphant said he hoped the private security industry can strengthen its relationship with the South African Police Service.

“The regulator will also be expanding, making it easier for individuals in the security industry to access services in various locations,” Oliphant concluded.
